E.D.E.N. Gardens
EDEN Church Garden The first of the EDEN Gardens, located at 1245 Culver Road. Home to over 20 raised garden beds in front of the Church building.
EDEN Merchants Garden Located adjacent to the entrance to Farmington Park at 622 Merchants Road. The EDEN Merchants Garden is home to 16 raised beds, as well as a vermicompost program hosted in partnership with St. John Fisher University.
EDEN Children's Garden Located at 408 Rosewood Terrace, this formally empty City lot was acquired in 2018. Home to 8 raised beds filled with perennial fruit plants, children's furniture, and sensory engaging plants. This garden lot is held in partnership with City Roots Community Land Trust.
EDEN Parsells Garden Located at 1199 Culver Road, the garden is part of the City of Rochester Community Garden lease program. Home to 20 raised garden beds and four fruit trees planted by Freedom Scholars Learning Center.

The E.D.E.N. Gardens each have art, picnic tables and benches, making them great spaces for neighborhood gatherings and events.
"The Buzz": E.D.E.N. Honey Bees
Starting in summer of 2021, SMSJ officially acquired our very own honey bee hives. They are located on our roof, and we routinely collect and sell or donate the honey that they produce. These bees have reminded us of the important work that pollinators play for our gardens, and we've continued to teach others more about them. Our bee education room, "The Buzz", is located on the third floor of our church building, where we can watch the bees buzz around their hives!
